The Sawbriar is a pleasant and complimentary mix of operations. We are a coffeehouse and offer a small intimate setting in which to enjoy acoustic music, an art gallery, showcasing fine art and some handmade gifts. The Sawbriar is located at 111 East Main Street, in downtown Pilot Mountain, NC. (For you "Mayberry" fans, yes that would be "Mount Pilot.") We're located off of NC Hwy 52, (also marked as Interstate 74) , between Winston-Salem, and Mount Airy, NC. We're just a "short and easy drive from just about everywhere."
Pilot Mountain, NC is a quaint, picturesque small town at the foot of Pilot Mountain State Park. Its population is approximately 1200 people. The state park offers rock climbing and hiking trails, along with camping and picnic facilities. Located in the Yadkin Valley Wine Region, there are several vinyards near by to visit while in the area. Overnight accomidations in the area include hotels, bed and breakfast establishments and cabin rentals. There are a variety of restaurants in the area as well.
The Sawbriar resides in one of the original downtown structures constructed in 1918. The original heart of pine flooring and twelve foot bead and board ceilings are still in good condition and help create a warm and woody acoustic environment throughout the space.
With some of the best coffee around and brownies that have been described as "to die for", icy cold old fashioned sodas in glass bottles, frozen coffee drinks and fruit smoothies and fresh popped popcorrn, we offer a delightful time in a warm and inviting atmosphere
that all can enjoy.
